How to Get the Amethyst Penguin in Adopt Me

The Amethyst Penguin is one of the newest Legendary pets in Adopt Me, and getting one is not as simple as buying an egg with Bucks.

The pet was added with the updated Star Rewards system on September 11, 2026. It comes from the new Gemstone Egg, which you can get by collecting 28 Stars.

The tricky part is the hatch chance.

The Amethyst Penguin has a 0.05% chance of coming from a Gemstone Egg, making it much harder to get than the other pets in the egg.

Here is how the whole process works.

How to get a Gemstone Egg

The first thing you need is 28 Stars.

Stars come from logging into Adopt Me each day.

The new Star Rewards system gives you Bucks and one Star for each daily login. You can then spend your Stars on different rewards.

At 28 Stars, you unlock the Gemstone Egg.

The Star Rewards track also includes other useful items along the way.

For example:

• 1 Star - several small rewards
• 2 Stars - Small Sip Potion
• 3 Stars - Big Sip Potion
• 5 Stars - increased house build limit or Streak Saver
• 10 Stars - Massive Gifts and Regal Chests
• 14 Stars - Royal Fairytale Egg
• 20 Stars - 2x Bucks & XP for 60 minutes
• 28 Stars - Gemstone Egg

So you are not getting nothing while working toward the 28-Star reward.

What can hatch from the Gemstone Egg?

The Gemstone Egg has a small group of possible pets.

The official drop chances are:

The Amethyst Penguin is listed separately with its own 0.05% chance.

The egg can also give several Ultra Rare pets, including Ginger Cat, Toucan, Starfish, Pomeranian and Orca.

The Legendary pool includes Golden Griffin, Golden Dragon, Golden Unicorn, Diamond Griffin and Diamond Dragon.

That means getting a Legendary pet does not automatically mean you got the Amethyst Penguin.

Why is the Amethyst Penguin so hard to get?

The biggest problem is the 0.05% chance.

That is much lower than the general 9.95% Legendary chance shown for the other Legendary rewards.

So if you hatch a Gemstone Egg and get a Golden Dragon or Diamond Dragon, that does not mean you were extremely close to getting the Amethyst Penguin. Each hatch is its own roll.

There is also no guaranteed Amethyst Penguin after a certain number of eggs based on the information currently provided by Adopt Me.

If your goal is specifically the Amethyst Penguin, you need to keep earning the available Gemstone Eggs or trade with other players.

How to get more chances

The main free method is to keep your daily login streak going.

Since Stars are connected to daily logins, missing days can slow down your progress.

You should also check your Star Rewards screen regularly so you know what your next reward is.

If you already have older rewards waiting, the new system has an interesting change. Adopt Me says previous rewards were automatically claimed when the new system launched, and players also received their next three rewards as an additional bonus.

This means returning players should check their rewards instead of assuming they have to start from zero.

Can you trade for an Amethyst Penguin?

The Amethyst Penguin is a pet from the 2026 Star Rewards Gemstone Egg.

If another player has one, trading is another possible way to get it.

However, its value can change as more players hatch the egg and more Amethyst Penguins enter the game.

If you are trading for one, check recent trade values and compare offers rather than giving away several valuable pets just because the Amethyst Penguin is new.

New pets often attract a lot of attention immediately after release.

Is the Gemstone Egg worth getting?

If you are already playing Adopt Me every day, there is a clear reason to keep collecting Stars.

The Gemstone Egg gives you access to the new Amethyst Penguin, but it also contains other Ultra Rare and Legendary pets.

Even if you do not get the 0.05% pet, your egg can still hatch something useful for your collection or future trades.

The bigger point is that the Gemstone Egg is part of the Star Rewards system, so you do not need to buy the egg directly with Robux.
