Slayers 2 Review: How Different Is It From Project Slayers?

Slayers 2 is finally here on Roblox.

For players who spent time with the original Project Slayers, the first question is probably not whether the new game looks better. It is much simpler:

Is Slayers 2 actually a new game, or is it just Project Slayers with a new map?

After the launch, the answer is pretty clear. Slayers 2 keeps many of the ideas that made the original Project Slayers popular, but it rebuilds the experience around a bigger world, deeper character progression, and more choices between the Slayer and Demon paths.

The game officially opened to the public on September 18, 2026, after an early-access period.

So, what changed?

What Made Project Slayers Popular?

Before looking at Slayers 2, it helps to remember what the first game did well.

Project Slayers was a Roblox action RPG inspired by Demon Slayer. Players could explore the world, complete quests, fight enemies and bosses, learn Breathing Styles, join the Demon Slayer path, or eventually become a Demon.

The original game also had clans, weapons, training, Final Selection and PvP.

Combat was more involved than simply clicking on enemies. Players could use normal attacks, heavy attacks, dashes, blocking and movement to build combos and avoid damage.

Progression was also a big part of the experience.

You started with basic quests and equipment, then slowly worked toward better weapons, Breathing Styles and stronger abilities.

That grind was part of the appeal.

But it also became one of the biggest complaints about games like Project Slayers: there was a lot to do, but some of the progression could feel repetitive.

Slayers 2 is clearly trying to keep the grind while giving players more things to do during it.

Slayers 2 Is Not a Save Transfer

One important thing to understand before starting is that your old Project Slayers character does not simply become your Slayers 2 character.

Slayers 2 is a separate experience built as a new game.

That means players should expect to start progression again instead of bringing their old level, currency and normal inventory into the sequel.

For an old player, this can feel both good and annoying.

The good part is that everyone starts working toward the new progression system together.

The bad part is obvious: if you spent a huge amount of time grinding Project Slayers, none of that means you can skip the early game in Slayers 2.

You are back at the beginning.

The Biggest Change: The World

One of the biggest differences is the structure of the world.

The original Project Slayers used separate regions that players traveled between.

Slayers 2 moves toward a large connected world with villages, forests, mountains and other areas connected together.

This makes exploration feel more important.

Instead of thinking only about the next quest location, you have more reasons to learn the map and figure out where trainers, enemies and resources are located.

Travel can still take time, especially when you are new.

That is where mounts and fast travel become useful parts of progression.

The bigger map also makes the game feel more like an RPG instead of a collection of quest areas.

Combat Still Feels Familiar

If you played Project Slayers before, the combat will not feel completely foreign.

Slayers 2 still uses the basic Roblox action RPG controls players expect:

  • M1 for normal attacks
  • M2 for heavy attacks
  • Q for dash
  • CTRL for wall climbing
  • Shift for sprint
  • Left Alt for mouse lock

There are also combo variations that let players launch or chain attacks instead of simply clicking M1 repeatedly.

That familiar foundation is important.

The developers did not throw away the combat style that existing players already know.

Instead, the new game puts more emphasis on builds, abilities and progression around that combat.

More Ways to Build Your Character

This is probably where Slayers 2 feels most different from the original.

The new game gives players a larger character progression system instead of making your Breathing Style or Demon Art the only thing that defines your build.

Players can spend skill points as they level up and combine their clan, abilities, weapons and combat style into a more personal build.

The Slayer path currently has 8 Breathing Styles and 3 Slayer weapons.

The Demon side has 9 Blood Demon Arts and 7 Demon weapons.

That gives players quite a bit more room to experiment.

You are not simply asking, "Which Breathing Style should I get?"

You also need to think about how your other choices work with it.

Slayer or Demon?

The choice between Slayer and Demon is still one of the biggest parts of the game.

Slayers focus on Breathing Techniques and sword-based combat.

Demons use Blood Demon Arts and have a different progression path.

The Demon route also has its own requirements rather than simply being another character-class button you press at the start. Players can follow Muzan's questline to reach the Demon path.

This is one area where the sequel feels more like an RPG.

Your choices affect what abilities and progression systems you use later.

If you like experimenting with different builds, this is a good change.

The Grind Is Still Here

This is something old Project Slayers players should know before jumping in.

Slayers 2 is still a grind-heavy Roblox RPG.

You will spend time doing quests, fighting enemies, earning currency, collecting materials and unlocking new abilities.

The new game has more systems, but more systems do not automatically mean less grinding.

In fact, early progression still asks you to work through basic quests before you reach the more interesting parts of the game.

For example, Slayer players need to progress before getting access to Breathing Styles, and the training process includes different objectives rather than simply paying a trainer and instantly learning a style.

So if you disliked the grind in Project Slayers, Slayers 2 probably will not completely change your mind.

If you enjoyed that progression loop, however, the sequel gives you more reasons to keep going.

What Feels Better Than the Original?

The biggest improvement is the feeling of progression.

There are more systems around your character, a larger connected world, more combat options and two distinct paths to explore.

The game also feels designed with long-term builds in mind.

You can work toward a specific clan, Breathing Style or Demon Art instead of simply rushing through the same basic upgrades.

The world structure is another clear step forward.

A connected map makes exploration more meaningful, especially once you start learning where different trainers and resources are located.

What Still Needs Work?

Slayers 2 launched only a few days ago, so it is too early to treat the launch version as the final form of the game.

Launch-week players have already been running into progression and server-related issues, and guides are still being updated as developers adjust requirements and other details.

That is normal for a Roblox game of this size, but it is still something new players should expect.

There is also the simple problem of complexity.

Slayers 2 has more systems than the original.

That is great if you enjoy RPG mechanics.

But if you just want to jump in, grab a sword and start fighting, the number of clans, skill points, trainers, quests and progression requirements can feel like a lot.

The important point is that Slayers 2 is not trying to remove everything that made Project Slayers recognizable.

It is taking the same basic formula and expanding it.

Should You Play Slayers 2?

If you played Project Slayers and enjoyed the combat, grinding and character progression, Slayers 2 gives you a familiar starting point with a much larger progression system.

If you never played the original, you also do not need to play it first.

The sequel explains its own systems and starts everyone from the beginning.

The main thing to understand is that this is still a grindy Roblox RPG.

You will need to put in time before your character starts feeling powerful.

That is not necessarily a bad thing. It is simply what the game is built around.

And if you are starting now, you are joining at a useful time: Slayers 2 has only just entered its public launch, so the community is still figuring out builds, clans, Breathing Styles and the fastest progression routes.

For new players, it is worth checking the latest Slayers 2 codes before starting your grind.

Final Thoughts

Slayers 2 feels less like a simple sequel and more like a rebuild of the original Project Slayers formula.

The familiar combat is still there.

So are clans, Breathing Styles, Demon Arts, quests and the Slayer-versus-Demon idea.

But the connected world and deeper progression make the new game feel larger.

The biggest downside is that old players have to start over, and the early game still has plenty of grinding.

For players who liked the original Project Slayers, that may be exactly what they wanted.

For everyone else, Slayers 2 is now one of the newer Roblox action RPGs worth watching as its launch period develops.
