I honestly thought Find the Needle was going to be one of those silly Roblox games that I could finish in a few minutes and move on from.
I was very wrong.
The idea sounds simple enough: there is a giant pile of grass, and somewhere inside it is a needle. Your job is to dig through the pile until you find it.
Sounds easy, right?
It isn't.
After spending more than 10 minutes clicking through a giant pile of green grass just to find one tiny needle, I started wondering why I was still playing. And somehow, instead of quitting, I kept upgrading my character and going back for another round.
That pretty much sums up my experience with Find the Needle.
The Whole Game Is Basically Looking for a Needle
The first thing you see is a huge pile of grass sitting in front of you.
There isn't some complicated story or massive questline waiting for you. You just start digging.
Every piece of grass you remove can be collected and sold for coins. Those coins can then be used to improve your digging setup.
You can increase your bag capacity, collect more grass at once, reduce cooldowns, and eventually unlock more powerful tools.
So the gameplay loop is basically:
Dig -> Collect Grass -> Sell -> Upgrade -> Dig Faster -> Find the Needle
It sounds ridiculously simple, and it is.
But that's also what makes it strangely addictive.
My First Needle Took About 13 Minutes
The first attempt was painful.
I had no idea what I was doing, so I just started digging through the pile and hoping the needle would eventually show up.
It didn't.
I kept clicking.
And clicking.
And clicking.
After around 13 minutes, I finally found the first needle.
At that point, I was not even excited. I was mostly thinking, "Wait... that's it?"
The funny thing is that after finally understanding how the upgrades work, the second attempt was much faster.
I managed to get the time down to roughly 8 and a half minutes.
That's when I realized the game is not completely random torture. There is actually a progression system that makes the next attempt easier.
The Upgrades Actually Make a Difference
This is probably the part that kept me playing.
The more grass you dig out, the more money you make. Then you can spend that money on upgrades that make digging less annoying.
Increasing the amount you can collect at once is especially useful because the early game can feel painfully slow.
Reducing cooldowns also makes a noticeable difference.
Eventually, you're no longer sitting there waiting for every single action. You can clear much larger sections of the pile much faster.
It doesn't suddenly turn Find the Needle into an exciting action game, but it does make the grind more manageable.
Yes, I Used an Auto Clicker
At some point, I stopped pretending that manually clicking hundreds of times was fun.
I used an Auto Clicker.
And honestly, I don't regret it.
The game is already built around repetitive digging, so using an auto clicker simply removes some of the most boring parts of the experience.
Of course, whether you want to use one is up to you. If you're playing normally, you'll have to spend more time digging and managing your upgrades.
But after several minutes of doing the same action over and over, I completely understood why someone would want to automate it.
Hard Mode Is Where Things Get Ridiculous
After surviving Normal Mode, I decided to try Hard Mode.
This was where the game really started testing my patience.
The grass pile is much larger, which means there is even more digging between you and the needle.
By this point I had better upgrades, so I wasn't starting completely from scratch. Even then, the pile still felt enormous.
I ended up using a Nuke to clear a huge area.
Yes, a nuke.
And even after doing that, it still took me around six minutes to finish Hard Mode.
That should tell you everything about how big these piles can get.
The 32 Robux Moment
There was also one purchase that I immediately regretted.
I saw an option that cost 32 Robux and was supposed to reveal the location of the needle.
I thought, "Why not? This should make things much easier."
So I bought it.
The needle's location was revealed...
for basically a second.
Then the marker disappeared.
I barely had time to process where it was.
That was probably the funniest part of the whole experience because I had just spent Robux on something that technically worked, but was almost useless in practice.
It definitely felt like a Roblox version of an IQ test.
Is Find the Needle Actually Fun?
This is where I'm conflicted.
If you're looking for a game with exciting combat, exploration, or a complicated progression system, Find the Needle probably isn't for you.
There isn't much variety in the core gameplay.
You're digging.
Then you're digging some more.
Then you are upgrading so you can dig faster.
Then you're digging an even bigger pile.
But somehow, watching the pile slowly disappear is satisfying.
There's also something weirdly relaxing about seeing your upgrades start to make a difference. What feels painfully slow at the beginning gradually becomes much faster.
It's not an amazing game, but it has that classic Roblox quality where a ridiculously simple idea somehow keeps you playing longer than expected.
The Biggest Problem Is the Grind
My biggest complaint is definitely the amount of repetitive work.
The first few minutes are funny because the concept itself is ridiculous.
After that, the joke starts wearing off.
You're essentially doing the same thing hundreds of times, and the only thing changing is how quickly you can do it.
The upgrades help, but they don't fundamentally change the gameplay.
That's why I wouldn't recommend playing this for hours at a time.
It's much better as a short, silly Roblox experience that you play when you want something mindless.
Final Verdict
After playing Find the Needle, I can honestly say that I understand why the game exists, but I also understand why someone might want to scream after playing it for 20 minutes.
The concept is incredibly simple, the gameplay is repetitive, and the grind can be brutal.
But that's also part of the appeal.
There is something strangely satisfying about starting with almost nothing, slowly upgrading your tools, clearing a giant pile of grass, and finally seeing that tiny needle.
Would I play it again?
Probably.
Would I recommend playing it for several hours straight?
Absolutely not.
If you enjoy weird Roblox simulators, repetitive progression, and games that test your patience for no good reason, Find the Needle is worth trying at least once.
Just don't blame me when you're still digging 13 minutes later wondering where that stupid needle is.
